Malwarebytes is primarily a scanner that scans and removes malicious objects including rogue security software, adware, spyware. Malwarebytes was a lifetime subscription, once you pay, there are no payment involved.
Malwarebytes lifetime keys
If you previously purchased the premium product, then your license details should say the duration is for a lifetime. However, Malwarebytes program allows the new legitimate key to working on premium for 12 months, and not life anymore.
I bought a premium lifetime key from Amazon (Amazon Digital Services, not a reseller thru amazon) in March of 2015 and it has been working fine since then. Recently I reformatted my computer, reinstalled the old version that I had saved offline during my purchase and it activates once again just fine, but when I update the latest version it is claiming my lifetime license is invalid. I also contacted Malware-bytes tech support and they are claiming its invalid! This makes no sense. How is it possible that it passed activation before and again even after formatting but suddenly its invalid once updating?
After checking the reviews here you can see several posts beginning this month (August 2015) of people mentioning my same issue. I find it hard to believe Amazon would sell bad keys, so what happened here??? Malware-bytes killing licenses just because they weren't sold direct? Ive been a loyal fan of this product for years, but this is just terrible if that is the case.
Consumer lifetime licenses were phased out in March 2014; so, by March 2015, few reputable resellers had any remaining stock of such licenses.(And it is always best (read:safest) to purchase a software license directly from the software publisher, rather than from 3rd-party sites. Deals that sound "too good to be true" often are.) There was a process in place to assist customers who may have inadvertently been scammed through the purchase of invalid/blacklisted/cracked/keygen/pirated licenses.Unfortunately, we here in the forum are unable to assist with this problem, such as a "403" or "404" error.Only Malwarebytes Support can do so.
You might also try to contact Amazon and request a refund.First:Please be sure you are not trying to activate your license on more computers than your license allows.Next: Please be sure you are entering the correct alphanumeric characters in the correct format. For example, please be sure not to swap "0" for "O", "1" for "I", etc; and be sure not to add extra spaces."Old" lifetime licenses have both a Key and an ID, each of which needs to be entered in its own field. The ID format is most likely XXXXX-XXXXX and the Key format is most likely XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX(Only "new" replacement licenses have just a Key, without an ID.)There is more information here: How do I activate Malwarebytes Anti-Malware?Next:If those do not resolve your issue, unfortunately, the only folks who can help with that particular error code are the Support folks at the help desk.We here at the forum do not have access to the necessary information to resolve such an error.
I purchased a retail version of Malwarebytes Pro several years ago that has a lifetime Key and ID. I just updated to Windows 10 and installed a "non latest release" of Malwarebytes and entered my Key and ID and all was well. But when I updated to the latest release, it reverted me back to a free version. When I attempted to reenter my Key and ID I now get a 403 error.
Like I said this was a retail version, complete with box, CD and license card. The box even has a free tech support phone number that is no longer valid. The primary reasons I bought Malwarebytes Pro back in 2011 was because of the lifetime Key/ID and free tech support number...neither of which appears to be available now.
I have provided tech support with a scanned copy of my license card that came in my retail package so hopefully they will provide me with a solution that allows my lifetime Key/ID to continue to work with the latest program versions.

I purchased a total of 6 lifetime keys directly from the Malwarebytes website several years ago. I went to go activate MBAM on my new computer and found out that two keys that I wasn't using are blacklisted. On my Malwarebytes account page they show up as "Canceled." I don't understand how a lifetime key can be canceled. I am also very diligent to deactivate the key on an old PC when moving it to a new one and I keep track on which PC goes what key.
I see that there are others on these forums having issues same as mine. I've created a support ticket 2694752. I have 4 lifetime keys in use on 4 computers without an issue, but for some reason 2 other lifetime keys are canceled.

Please see Hammer_Bro's 30-Jul-2019 post in the Norton Tech Outpost thread Did anyone else notice their MBAM program recently losing credentials?. Hammer _Bro purchased 3 separate perpetual lifetime licenses for 3 different computers, and when one of those product keys recently stopped working Malwarebyte Support provided this explanation:
Just a word of caution for other users. I know of several users, including myself, with lifetime licenses (with the "old sytle" combination 5-digit ID code / 16-digit product key) who created a Malwarebytes account but kept getting a "The product key you are trying to use is already registered" error when they tried to register and manually reset their product key. In my case I purchased the original key from the Malwarebytes online store in 2009 using an old (now invalid) email address and assume that was part of the problem. I opened a support ticket on 16-Jul-2019 and attached my original proof of purchase, and it took Malwarebytes Support seven working days (until 25-Jul-2019) before they gave up trying to link my original key with my new email address and decided to simply issue me a new lifetime license (no ID code, 20-character product key only) that I could register in my Malwarebytes account.-------------32-bit Vista Home Premium SP2 * Firefox ESR v52.9.0 * Norton Security Deluxe v22.15.2.22 * Malwarebytes Premium v3.5.1-1.0.365
Thanks for the replies, guys. I haven't used those 2 keys for a long time. Probably years. I'm really hoping that they aren't invalidated permanently now. I don't really care whether they get reactivated or I just get two new lifetime keys put into my account, as long as I get what I paid for.
Malwarebytes discontinued the sale of lifetime licences when Malwarebytes v2 came out. There are still some resellers that have lifetime licences available, but not that many and it can be hard to see the different between a legit reseller and a scam.
I would highly recommend not purchasing lifetime licenses on eBay or other similar sites as they are more than likely fake keys or pirated. If you did purchase a lifetime license from these websites, we do not guarantee that they will work on activation or in the future.
Just be sure to deactivate the license on your current computer first before activating on your new machine. Here's how: -how-do-i-transfer-my-malwarebytes-anti-malware-license-to-a-different-computer-?b_id=6400
